Premiership Rugby and PERFORM confirm three year partnership

Digital sport specialists deliver Premiership Rugby across online portal

Premiership Rugby has announced a three year deal with digital sport specialists PERFORM to launch Premiership Rugby TV. The channel, which was in place for the start of the new domestic season, is the No.1 online portal for fans to watch all Aviva Premiership Rugby throughout the 2010/11 campaign.

The deal includes extensive highlights of every Aviva Premiership Rugby match as well as exclusive interviews and features. It also comprises online audio commentary rights and live match stats for the league, meaning fans can follow their individual teams live through the website.

To accompany the development of the online channel, PERFORM are also managing the Outside Broadcast production from 66 (non live) of the 135 matches throughout the season - all those not broadcast by ESPN or Sky Sports. PEFORM are also producing the 52-minute weekly Aviva Premiership Rugby highlights show, to be shown on ITV 1 and 4 as well as distributed internationally.

PERFORM are producing web highlights of all 135 Aviva Premiership Rugby matches for Premiershiprugby.tv, and distributing 90-second highlights across their ePlayer broadcast network, which streams sports highlights across over 600 publisher websites globally as well as on Premiershiprugby.com and the 12 official club websites.

Oliver Slipper, Joint-CEO, PERFORM said: "We're delighted to be carrying out the production for what is widely considered the leading rugby union club competition in the world.

"Partnering up with the Premiership Rugby is an exciting step and, in premiershiprugby.tv, sees us provide the rugby fan's first port of call for highlights, exclusive interviews and live audio commentary from all twelve elite clubs."

Jon Varney, Commercial Director, Premiership Rugby said, "The clubs have invested a significant amount of resource into premiershiprugby.tv and it represents a major innovation for club rugby and another step forward for the club game in England.

"premiershiprugby.tv gives our supporters and partners access to high quality match footage of all 135 Aviva Premiership Rugby matches and will undoubtedly become an important new media channel for us going forward."
